Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) Programs by GI Supply

Most states require nurses to complete some form of continuing education every two to three years as a condition of licensure. Even if your state board does not require any education for continuing competence for renewal, you may still be required by your employer or nursing association for job-specific certifications (i.e., nursing specialties, magnet hospitals, etc.). GI Supply offers accredited CNE classes which can take place at your facility or at an off-site location and provides nurses a free contact hour upon completion.

    Course Title: Ensuring Patient Safety with Endoscopic Tattooing
    Intended Audience: Nurses
    Duration: 1 hour

    Focus of the training:

    This faculty-directed continuing education program provides information on the role of endoscopic tattoo in patient safety. Enhanced visualization, preoperative lesion localization, surveillance, and prevention of wrong site surgery will all contribute to patient safety. GI Supply has partnered with Educational Dimensions to credential the program through SGNA and AGCGN

    • Describe approved methods of endoscopic tattooing of lesions of GI tract
    • Identify risks and benefits of endoscopic tattooing lesions of GI tract
    • Describe indications for endoscopic tattooing
    • Discuss the impact of endoscopic tattooing on wrong site surgery reduction
    • Attendees will complete an evaluation post presentation and receive 1 contact hour (CEU).

     

    Course Title: Management of Polyps in the GI Tract
    Intended Audience: Nurses

    • Describe the  types of  GI lesions/polyps and their  characteristics
    • Discuss advanced Polypectomy techniques, including EMR and ESD
    • Review the indications and use of lifting and marking agents used in the management of GI lesions/polyps

    Course Title: Endoscopic Tattooing – Physician Education
    Intended Audience: Gastroenterologists

    • Review the new guidelines for endoscopic tattooing
    • Describe how and why to use an endoscopic tattoo for surgical localization and clinical surveillance
    • Describe the bleb technique for endoscopic tattooing

    • High level description of ascites background, cause, and symptoms
    • Ascites management and treatment options
    • Ascites management with large volume paracentesis
