  1. 1. WHAT TYPE OF CRYOTHERAPY DEVICE IS THE POLAR WAND?
    Polar Wand uses compressed CO2 stored at room temperature as a cryogen source and a catheter to deliver the cryogen to the treatment site. By utilizing the Joule-Thompson effect the CO2 expands and rapidly cools to -78C as it exits the catheter. This cryotherapy spray results in a dose dependent injury to the tissue. The tissue in the treated area sloughs off and new tissue forms.
