There's a reason "cold" and "cash" go together.
What it can do
The Polar Wand is an efficient, highly versatile endoscopic cryotherapy system which safely ablates mucosal lesions in the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and rectum.
As the cryogen is applied on the mucosa, a coating of ice creates a whitened appearance on the tissue which makes it easy to identify the sprayed areas. During the process, the depth of injury is minimal.
Why it's better for your patients
The Polar Wand has been shown in clinical studies to be a safe treatment option for your patients
Clinical studies have shown the Polar Wand is often effective in patients that have had resistance to other types of treatment.
With the Polar Wand's ability to treat large areas quickly, procedure time is reduced. And, since cryotherapy results in a gradual destruction of tissue, patients can, if required, be treated on consecutive days.
It's well tolerated.
Patients report little or no pain after treatment with the Polar Wand.
Why it's better for you
Some ablation devices are designed for one procedure or disorder. The Polar Wand provides highly effective ablation in the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and rectum. In turn, fewer devices mean less purchasing, maintenance, and training.
It's easy to use.
The Polar Wand has a short learning curve. The endoscopist simply sprays ice onto tissue through the flexible catheter, which is passed down the biopsy channel of the scope.
With Polar Wand's ability to quickly treat large areas, procedure times are reduced.
The Polar Wand unit and its disposables are considerably lower priced than other ablation systems.
What clinical studies show
Trials document the Polar Wand's effectiveness for the treatment of gastric antral vascular ectasia, arteriovenous malformations, and radiation proctitis. Initial results from ablation of tissue in the esophagus and duodenum are highly promising. As a whole, the results demonstrate that the Polar Wand is a suitable, efficient alternative to existing devices, particularly ones that rely on APC or radio frequency.
